Everyone Connects
I’m in love with Everyone Connects since Day 1 I knew about it.

It actually started off as a website, with a 1 min + song entitled “Through My Window” which is free to listen, with no details on who sang it or who produce/sponsor it. It turned out to be a successful gimmick, almost all local radio station is playing the 1 min + song (that time the full song is not released yet) and got everyone to talk about it, discussing who the artist might be.
There’s been a lot of wild guest by the public – some guessed its a new band, some say its a new artist and there’s others who speculate that the person who sang “Through My Window” is Mawi (LoL~!, that was so funny!). Everyone agree though that whoever sang that got talent!
And few weeks later the gimmick was revealed. The song is sang by Bunkface (obviously! That’s my first guess, and I got it!) and the whole EveryoneConnects thingi is powered by TM.
I was really happy it is Bunkface. Too bad I don’t know them when they came to UTP for performance at Euphonious 2009, I was standing in the VIP room with them! But after the performance, it was awesome and I’ve began listening to most of their songs (Situasi and Revolusi are some of their best songs).
Then EveryoneConnects collaborate with various local youth stuff..including YouthSays and then came the “Though My Window” Mash-Up Remix Contest. I thought I might give it a try, they offer lots of prizes and I’m aiming to one of the lil’ prizes (eg. RM30 Borders voucher or Starbucks voucher)…and who knows..my first submission won an 8GB Ipod Nano! To win it, the submission must be the best of the day.
I was super thrilled when I saw my name on the prize winners list. It was a moment of…”OMG”…plus craziness + disbelief + awesomeness! I’ve never won a prize for any contest I’ve joined and I won this with my first submission!
You can listen to my winning remix here:
http://www.everyoneconnects.net/rdparty101/video_mashup.aspx?vid=2061
You’ll have to load it a while, and wait for the “Loading” turns to “Through My Window”.
On top of that, they have listed the winners list as well as their remix on the main site: http://youthsays.com/everyoneconnects
The contest is still running, till 15th November. Give it a try!
My remix made it through to the top 10 most played remix! Thanks for da support~!
As I was writing the post, it just got up the ladder to #8 !

Update *14th Nov* – And it’s now Top 5 in just 2 days! Thanks again!

On their main page:

4 more Nanos give-away. Remember to give it a shot! I might not be a professional DJ or some sort to be offering tips, but you might wanna put their song as your ringtone! That was what I did when they release the song as free-to-download, even weeks before the contest…and maybe that might have helped me…
Well if Nanos not your type, you can still try for their various prizes, which they’ll give for every 30th lucky submission.

I wan a…
I wan a Zune HD by Microsoft to replace my old MP3 player. Sleek and score fairly better than Ipod Touch according to various reviews (except for its online store which is still in its infancy, but I guess I dont really need it).
OLED screen, which means better display and battery than Ipod LCD backlit screen.
Touch response is as fast as Ipod. Competitive price.
It looks tough yet its really slim….totally fall in love with it before it was released.
It supports HD Radio, but Malaysia don’t have such thing yet…
Love it Love it, but it’s only in US for now. Too bad. T.T
I really don’t wan an Ipod Touch..looks so common nowadays with Iphone around.
Sony OLED X series MP3 players, not worth the money.
So what’s to replace my MP3 player? Any suggestion?

Short & Sweet
Here’s a short and sweet post featuring highlights on half of July 2009 semester in UTP.
It’s really, a short and sweet half a semester
No. 1 – Emcee for Famine 2009
My first time becoming an emcee and I simply love the experience! Thanks to the committee members who gave me the opportunity. I’ve trained emcee, but never was an emcee myself, how ironic! xD
Famine 2009 DIY Camp was a double treat, not only I get the chance to become emcee, but also have to chance to contribute to the world hunger relief.
Though its short, only for two days, it’s one of the sweetest experience this semester.
No. 2 – ETP
Engineering team project! Wohoo..something every 3rd year engineering student in UTP must go through. I’m lucky enough to have really great group mates. Dedicated and hardworking, plus talented!

This semester was crazy due to lots of projects. Imagine having major project for all the subjects (except engineering economics)…life’s really tough, but my etp mates made it easier for my etp project. Thanks lots!
No. 3 – Intern
I’d finally choose the internship placement that I want~! It’s at Accenture, a global firm providing IT and Technological solutions to its clients. It’s ranked 45 in the Top 100 Global Brands. Not easy for a consulting firm. Most in the Top 100 list were consumer brands – Intel, Adidas, Nestle, Google…

I’m pretty sure my internship at Accenture is gonna be really exciting! Warning from the employer and seniors though: Working there is gonna be tough with lots of extended hours. Well, we’ll see…
No. 4 – Friends
The best thing every semester about UTP is the people there. It’s the people there that makes the events unforgettable. It’s the people there that keeps me going, keeps me happy, and make everything fun!
Special thanks to my beloved course mates, fellow friends & colleagues as well as new friends~ It’s been wonderful knowing all of you!

It’s gonna be a super long list if I start listing it down. HaHa. So if you’re my friend, you are included! (okay, call me lazy…

Fast and Cheap!
Travel to LCCT via ERL from KL Sentral for only RM12.50!
For those who are not familiar with the term, ERL stands for Express Rail Link – the fastest way to travel to KLIA (and now LCCT too!)
Just wanna share the good news for frequent travellers. It’s really dirt cheap compared to RM35 from KL Sentral to KLIA.
Plus it’s fast, compared to buses. I’m not sure how fast though to LCCT, but to KLIA it normally takes 28 minutes only, compare to 1 hr by bus.
Now this give me a reason to opt for AirAsia perhaps…we’ll see how
They are giving out 5000 free tickets. Register for one now (even though you might not have plan to travel…yet
)
Compare ticket fares with KL Sentral-KLIA route:

I’m not quite sure how AirAsia/LCCT manage to get ERL for this impressive fare. ERL is run independently. Perhaps its only promotional? Or subsidized by Tony Fernandez? LCCT? I do hope the price sticks though.

Already Gone Vs Halo
The controversial Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson versus Halo by Beyonce~
Both composed by Ryan Tedder. Halo was released first and Clarkson was complaining that Already Gone sounds similar, though Ryan Tedder denied completely.
Up to you to judge~!
I’m more familiar to Halo, so my vote goes to Beyonce, for now ![]()
Maybe my vote will change when they spam Already Gone on Hitz.fm
